well hello there stylish handwriting readers! i’m alexa from cleveland’s a plum (it really is a plum, i promise).

so the wonderful EP has asked me to hold down the fort for her today while she is relaxing on the beach. i promise that i also have stylish handwriting, very stylish.

EP actually made me send her a handwriting sample before she allowed me to guest blog. thank god i passed. phew!

so while i have all of EP’s readers attention i want to share something personal with all of you – what’s on my refrigerator.

yes, my kitchen refrigerator.

i think that what’s on your refrigerator says a lot about your personality, perhaps i should write a book about it. wait, no one go steal my idea, DIBS!

when i was a child i lived in a no magnet household and i hated it. the refrigerator was always completely clean not a single picture or A+ paper. Even now as i type this while i’m visiting my mom in canton for the holiday weekend i’m staring at her stainless steel refrigerator and it is completely bare.

boooooooooooooring. zero personality.

when i moved into my apartment i swore i was going to have a “fun” refrigerator. i say fun, my mom says trashy and cluttered. pish posh.

open me to eat delicious vegan food!

open me to eat delicious vegan food!

hmmmmm, maybe it is a little cluttered...

hmmmmm, maybe it is a little cluttered...

so as you can see i have taken my mothers no magnet rule when i was a child to the extreme now that i am adult.

i have lots of magnets, some aren’t even holding anything up! specifically the 375 jimmy john’s magnets that my friend poo poo stole from the store counter. what can i say, we like jimmy john’s!

there’s also invitations – wedding, baby shower, dinner parties, save the date, etc.

i keep a couple of christmas cards from friends up so i can stare that their pretty faces.

family pictures, cleveland cavs and cleveland gladiators team schedules, and two newly added magnets that maxie brought me from chicago.

there’s also lots of random stickers and a shopping list note pad.

sucks that now that i look at the pictures of my refrigerator it is a bit cluttered. but it is my refrigerator and i can put whatever i want on it right?

so now that i have shared with you dear internets…

what’s on your refrigerator?

I say your frig is a nice artistic expression of who you are! Yeah, that’s right. I don’t have anything on my frig yet but I will soon. My frig is an old bone color so it needs covering desperately.

Loving this guest post! We have photos completely covering the freezer part of ours – and we collect magnets from where ever we travel, so we have magnets all over the side. Plus the normal invitations and save the dates and stuff to remember. I love our fridge.

My now ex-roommate is one of those no-magnet people (in an evil way, though; your mom sounds cool and my ex-roommate is anything but), and I love having stuff on the fridge. My refrigerator has nothing but magnets on it. No pictures, no notes. Just magnets, magnets, magnets. I’ve got South Park magnets, Pink Floyd magnets, Hairspray magnets, a cool magnet set of wire representations of famous buildings (i.e. the Eiffel Tower), and a whole bunch of Dilbert magnets. I love my busy refrigerator.

Lets see… pictures. Lots of pictures. and a few of those paper memo pads that we’re supposed to use for keeping the grocery list, but never do.

I LOVE magnets. I bought a ton when I lived abroad so now my fridge is covered in Irish flags, Italian movies, aaaand of course, Jimmy John’s and Pizza Hut…

Pizza saucy fingerprints?

That’s a lie…pizza sauce in this house doesn’t last long before it’s shoved in my face.

Seriously though, my fridge is bare.

on our frig we have tons of pictures and party invitations….. gotta love a fun frig….

What a great idea for a post. Definitely FAB. Although I would probablly have a panic attack if I had to see your fridge all the time very busy but full of character :)

Well, since you asked…

I like to collect magnets when I go to a new city. So my refrigerator is basically a travel trophy. However, MY mom was all about the fridge clutter, so I tend to swing toward the clean, boring look. I compromise by putting all my magnets on the SIDE of the fridge, over the counter. Best of both worlds.

I don’t think I’d pass the stylish handwriting test… mine’s just messy and not-that-pretty.

Anyway, our fridge is pretty plain at the moment since we just moved in. It has a few magnets and take-out menus on it. Hopefully it will soon be a veritable mass of kitsch. An old fridge of ours was completely covered in band-stickers which was pretty cool.

Hmmm…good idea, photographing your fridge. I dont like having a cluttered fridge but I think mine fails the clean test…I have conversation magnets on there, and their not so clean. I have “cat” ones so theres some eh, dirty words. I think I’ll post mine tomorrow!

Everything that is important…

Should be on your refrigerator. I have 2 of them…one of them is clean. The other (beer fridge) is full of stickers of bands, bars, alcoholic drinks…etc.

Very manly stuff..I figure, if I ever get married- there will be a need for 3 or so refrigerators.

14. freeandflawed - July 7, 2008

That’s not cluttered at all! I’ll have to take a picture of my aunt’s refrigerator.

15. so@24 - July 7, 2008

Drunk college pics.

I’ll grow up one of these days.

16. taawd - July 7, 2008

i’d take a picture of my fridge but it’s mostly bare. a buzz lightyear magnet (don’t ask!) and a little magnet calendar along with a cleveland metroparks zoo magnet. that’s all! i took my mother’s decorate the fridge rule and simplified it.
